Hi, I’m Stephen, founder of Bog and Brass. Ever since I was young, I’ve had a fascination with wood, a passion that truly took root when I began collecting driftwood during walks along the shore of my local town (Moville in the stunningly beautiful Inishowen peninsula). I would create random things from the pieces I found, sparking a deeper interest in woodworking.
My journey into wood-turning began after watching a few inspiring videos on YouTube. From there, I immersed myself in reading and learning online, gradually mastering the basics. With each practice session, my skills and confidence grew.
Every day is a learning experience, and I thrive on experimenting with new ideas and techniques. This continuous learning fuels my creativity and drives me to innovate. Today, I create all of the Bog and Brass pieces in my workshop, which grows a little bit more every day.
At Bog and Brass, I take great pride in offering customers unique pens and razors that carry an authentic piece of Irish history. Indeed, for me, my products aren’t just tools; they’re unique instruments that carry a story. Seeing a customer’s joy when they receive their one-of-a-kind item is the most rewarding part of my work.
