The Forgotten Creatures is the first ever Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book set in the Inishowen Peninsula and it aims at (re)discovering extinct animals and mythical creatures, while walking across a beautiful landscape, realistically and accurately depicted. The book explores four iconic places in Inishowen: Buncrana, Inch Island Wildfowl Reserve, the Celtic Prayer Garden, Malin Head. An engaging map of part of the Forgotten County, with an interactive game designed to raise awareness about our relationship with the natural and cultural heritage.

What is a Gamebook?

A Gamebook or a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book is a written adventure that places the reader in the middle of the story, allowing them to take an active part in the development of the plot through the use of numbered sections. The numbers are shown in order, but the story isn’t, because the adventure doesn’t develop in a linear manner.

The adventure starts with number 1, then the story proceeds by jumps and leaps. At the end of each section, a number will tell you which segment you have to read next. In most cases there will be two or more possibilities and you have to choose how the story goes on.

Sometimes your adventure will come to an end. But there’s nothing to worry about. This is a story which contains dozen of different stories, so you can just start again from the beginning and choose a different path.
